The Inaugural ASEAN-UK Senior Officials' Meeting (AUK SOM)

On July 06, 2022, the inaugural ASEAN-United Kingdom Senior Officials’ Meeting (AUKSOM) was held in London, the United Kingdom. The meeting marks as the first official engagement of both sides’ Senior Officials since the UK granted the status of Dialogue Partner on August 02, 2021. During the meeting, the ASEAN and UK agreed to continue to strengthen their existing cooperation and explore many new areas for cooperation in the future.

In addition, the ASEAN-UK SOM highly appreciated the progress and ongoing work in the negotiation of the Plan of Action (POA) on the ASEAN-UK Dialogue Partnership from 2022 to 2026 and looks forward to the adoption at the ASEAN Post Ministerial Conference (PMC) 10+1 Session with the UK, scheduled to be held on August 04, 2022, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
