Background
ASEAN and the United Kingdom (UK) share a robust and enduring friendship that is evolving to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. As the UK strives to deepen its Dialogue Partnership status with ASEAN, it is focusing on building closer ties through academic collaboration and diplomatic engagement.

However, a significant gap exists in information sharing and dialogue among the youth of both regions. Many young people remain unaware of the ASEAN-UK relationship, resulting in limited engagement and participation.
To bridge this gap, we are excited to introduce the ASEAN-UK Young Leaders Initiative (ASEANUK-YLI). This groundbreaking, youth-led project aims to enhance connectivity, raise awareness, and foster youth development within the ASEAN-UK framework.

ASEANUK-YLI represents a pioneering effort to engage young leaders from both ASEAN member states and the UK in meaningful exchanges and collaborative projects. By promoting better bilateral and regional relations, this initiative seeks to ensure that the next generation is well-informed and actively involved in shaping the future of ASEAN-UK relations.
