ASEAN-UK Young Leaders Initiative (ASEANUK-YLI) is proud to officially launch our new publication 'Cambodia-United Kingdom at 70: Looking Back and Ways Forward', by Mr. Vanndasambath CHHUON, General Coordinator of ASEANUK-YLI.
This publication explores the extensive history of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and the United Kingdom (UK) from 1953 to 2023. In the underpinnings of the bilateral ties, it studies the historical backgrounds, critical junctures, and present circumstances that have shaped these bilateral ties, marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations. The study observes that while the friendship between Cambodia and the UK has been significantly developed, it is still considered relatively modest in certain aspects. Nonetheless, it holds significant potential and promises future cooperation in comprehensive actions and a wider range of areas. In light of these findings, the recommendations are presented as ways forward to strengthen and nourish this relationship.
