ASEAN-UK YLI Team met with Girl Take Over for British Ambassador for A Day, Manich

On October 8, 2025, the ASEAN-UK Young Leaders Initiative team had a meeting with Ambassador Manich, Girl Take Over as the British Ambassador for a Day, along with Ambassador Dominic Williams, at the British Embassy in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, we presented the objectives and ongoing activities of ASEAN-UK YLI as a leading youth-led project to strengthen relations between ASEAN and the UK, as well as Cambodia and the UK, and to promote youth empowerment. We discussed the current status of Cambodia-UK relations, challenges faced, and the way forward to support young girls and young people in raising awareness between the two regions, as well as the future steps for Cambodia-UK relations.

This program is a partnership between the British Embassy in Cambodia and Plan International Cambodia, to celebrate International Day of the Girl. ASEAN-UK YLI is proud to be part of Manich's journey, as we have strongly supported the presence of Girl Take Over for the last three years.

Ambassador Manich's journey is truly inspiring for young girls, women, and everyone to value education, keep their dreams high, and the encouraging environment is very important for everyone.
